Text Sketcher™ creates smooth 3D text in CATIA® V5. Designers and machinists need to incorporate 3D text in their models without having to use time consuming data translation processes. Text Sketcher accesses CATIA's API (Application Programming Interface) to create text as editable spline and line geometry within a sketch.

Text Sketcher (formerly Text in CATIA) was originally developed by Drew Mumaw, Stewart Simpson, Kyle Sigo, and Chris Rhodes at Purdue University as the focus of an academic endeavor for a Computer Graphics Technology course. The response from the initial release was overwhelming as thousands of CATIA users found it effective. 3D Text Solutions, LLC now offers this standalone version with new and improved features.
